ABOUT MARTIN
Lighting.
Controls.
Experience.
Martin Bevz is a senior lighting professional whose career spans architectural lighting, engineering, lighting controls, entertainment and theatre.
With experience across both the creative and technical sides of lighting, Martin brings a practical, real-project perspective to the way he works — and the way he teaches.
MARTIN'S STORY
Creative thinking.
Technical experience.
Martin began his career in the entertainment, touring and theatre industry before moving into the built environment and completing a Master of Architectural Science at the University of Sydney.
Since then, he has worked across architectural lighting, engineering and lighting controls, including work with organisations such as Mirvac, LVX Global and 32 Hundred Lighting.
In 2017, Martin was part of the 32 Hundred Lighting team behind Dreamscape at Vivid Sydney — an interactive lighting installation recognised by Guinness World Records as the world's largest interactive lighting display.
His experience across both creative and technical disciplines shapes the way he approaches lighting. Rather than looking at products or technology in isolation, Martin considers how the system works as a whole — from the technical requirements through to the way people experience light within a space.
Martin is also Casambi 4C Certified and brings that same project-based approach to his teaching with Light Lunch Series: helping industry professionals understand not just what to do, but how to make informed decisions when they're working on real projects.
